H Morgan-Harris

With upwards of 15 years as a curator and large-scale event director, H Morgan-Harris has worked extensively promoting, curating and directing Tortuga Studio’s multiple exhibitions and street festivals, working with the Sydney Fringe Festival, Art Month, Inner West Council and City of Sydney.

She is also a published author and blogger, writes extensively on the memory of place, the cultural architecture of space and what it means to exist within it. Her art is informed by multiple strands of consciousness, notably the impact of colonialism, the Australian gothic movement, environmental vandalism, indigeneity and the withering of ‘the lucky country’ epithet. Often a vivid commentary – in words, function, form and emotion – on our world, it polarises preconceived ideals society holds dear in opposition to the bleak reality we seem happy to ignore.
